Hello everyone! I know a lot of you don't know how the oils are made, and how to use essential oils.
Young Living has farms located across the globe: Mona, Utah, USA; Salalah, Oman; Simiane-La-Rotonde, France; Guayaquil, Ecador; Highland Flats, Idaho, USA; and St. Maries, Idaho, USA. In those farms, they grow the everything in order to make the oils that we get to enjoy! They have a five step process in order to get the oil into those bottles! It is called, "Seed to Seal."
Essential oils are aromatic violative liquids distilled from shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, and seeds. The oils are very strong. Essential oils are highly concentrated and far more potent than dried herbs. The distillation process is what makes essential oils so concentrated. How concentrated are the oils? Just to give you an idea, lavender happens to be the most commonly used (and loved) oil! It takes 27 square feet of lavender plants to make a 15 ml bottle of lavender oil. It takes 75 lemons in order to make a 15 ml bottle of lemon oil. It also takes one pound of raw peppermint material in order to make a 15 ml bottle of peppermint oil! Which fun little fact and side note, peppermint, lavender and lemon help with allergies. It's also an amazing smell in the diffuser! Just three drops of each in the diffuser and it makes your house smell amazing, and it deals with your annoying allergies!
Essential oils are also different from vegetable oils such as olive, grape seed, coconut, and sunflower oils. Essential oils are not greasy and do not clog the pores like many vegetable oils can. It is important to understand that, if not distilled properly and pressed, an essential oils high in plant waxes such as patchouli, could go rancid over time, particularly if exposed to heat for extended periods of time. This is why Young Living's "Seed to Seal" promise is essential.
So, that just gives you a brief description of how the oils are made and such.
I just want to touch on how to use essential oils.
Anytime you hold a bottle of an essential oil, you are holding the pure essence of health-promoting botanicals that can be diffused, inhaled, applied topically, incorporated into a massage, or taken internally to:
- inspire a positive emotional state
- enhance your physical wellness
- purify your home
- refine your skin
- create deep spiritual awareness
To inspire a positive emotional state, you would use the essential oils: Joy, Lavender, Orange, Peace & Calming, Peppermint, and/or Jasmine
To enhance your physical wellness, you would use: NingXia Red, OmegaGize3, Life 5, Slique Tea, and/or Longevity (keep in mind, these are not all oils, Young Living sells more than just oils)
To purify your home, you would use: Thieves Household Cleaner, Thieves (the oil), Lemon, Thyme, Purification, and/or Lemongrass
To refine your skin, you would use: ART Renewal Serum, Lavender Volume Shampoo and Conditioner, Copaiba Vanilla Shampoo and Conditioner, Boswellia Wrinkle Cream, Lavender, and/or Frankincense
To create deep spiritual awareness, you would use: Sacred Frankincense, White Angelica, Egyptian Gold, Inspiration, and/or The Gift
My favorite thing to do is to use my diffuser! It just is awesome! I have one in my daughter's room. I use it every night with Cedarwood oil to help her with sleep! Did I mention that she sleeps 7-9 hours straight a night and then an additional 3-4 hours, and she's only three months old. We also rub oils on her before bed to help her with gas and sleep! I love my oils! There is so much more that I could say about these subjects, but for now, that's all. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! Or if you would like to know more about something and want a blog post just about it, let me know! I'm open to knew things to talk about! If you would like to order some oils, let me know! I'd love to help you order them! Keep in mind, the premium starter kits are still on sale! It contains a lot of the oils that I've mentioned and a diffuser!
